Very important is a road loss of second ranked Leon (13-5) against eighth ranked Betanzos (9-9) on Sunday night. Visiting Leon was defeated by Betanzos in a tough game in Betanzos 76-80. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Leon. Leon was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 42-35 second half run of Betanzos. The best player for the winners was center Marcos Rozas (202-83) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Senegalese power forward Abdou Thiam (204-98) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American Ted Hinnenkamp (201-93, college: Dickinson, agency: Duran International) who recorded 22 points and 6 rebounds and guard Jose-Antonio Lopez (190-96) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Four Leon players scored in double figures. Leon's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Betanzos maintains eighth place in Group A-B with 9-9 record. Leon at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. Betanzos' next round opponent will be Innova Chef (#11) in Zamora. Leon will play at home against BVM 2012 (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
