Regular Season Round 42: Kumamoto V. - Aomori Watts 62-55

An interesting game for Kumamoto V. (31-9) which hosted in Kumamoto one of their biggest challengers Aomori Watts (16-24). Third ranked Kumamoto V. managed to get a 7-point victory 62-55. Aomori Watts were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Aomori Watts were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) scored 27 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Takumi Furuno (179-93) chipped in 11 points during the contest. Kumamoto V.'s coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and Kenta Tateyama (188-90) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Kumamoto V. maintains third position with 31-9 record having just one point less than leader Gunma. Aomori Watts lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 24 games lost. Kumamoto V. will play against Iwate Big Bulls (#6) on the road in the next round. Aomori Watts will play against the league's second-placed Dragonflies and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
