Regular Season Round 10: Hydrabad S. - Chennai S. 83-79

The game between Top Four teams took place in Hyderabad. Second ranked host Hydrabad S. (3-2) defeated one of their biggest challengers Chennai S. (2-3) 83-79. It was a key game for the top position in the league. It looked good early as Chennai S. took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hydrabad S. had a 24-21 second period charge getting the lead and Chennai S. was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 79-83. Strangely Chennai S. outrebounded Hydrabad S. 45-33 including a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. American Tevin Kelly notched 37 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Mahesh Padmanabhan supported him with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 27 points and 20 rebounds by international center Rikin Pethani (203-90) did not help to save the game for Chennai S.. Ram Kumar Cr added 21 points, 5 assists and 5 steals for lost side. Four Chennai S. players scored in double figures. Hydrabad S. keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Pune P. and Delhi C. Defending champion Chennai S. keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Bengaluru and Punjab S.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
