Sixth-ranked Akita Happinets (11-30) were very close to win a game against first ranked Aishin Sea Horses (30-9) in Kariya on Sunday. Aishin Sea Horses managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 25-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Aishin Sea Horses made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was a good game for the former international swingman Makoto Hiejima (190-90) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 4 assists. The former international center JR Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Evan Ravenel (203-89, college: Ohio St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and international guard Shigehiro Taguchi (184-90) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Akita Happinets. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Akita Happinets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aishin Sea Horses have a solid three-game winning streak.
