Regular Season Round 20: Namika Lr - Ura Basket 68-86
Date: February 26, 2017
There was no surprise in Lappeenranta where 12th ranked Namika Lr (5-17) was defeated by third ranked Ura Basket (17-5) 86-68. It looked good early as Namika Lr took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Ura Basket had a 24-9 second period charge getting the lead and Namika Lr was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-86. They outrebounded Namika Lr 44-32 including 17 on the offensive glass. Ura Basket players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Namika Lr's players. The winners were led by American forward Sean Harris (201, college: Utah St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Jermaine Watson (193-81, college: Boston Coll.) supported him with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Worth to mention Watson played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Even 32 points and 9 rebounds by American swingman Reginald Bratton (193-86, college: Lenoir-Rhyne, agency: Blacktop Management) did not help to save the game for Namika Lr. Forward Karl Engelvuori (191-95) added 10 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ura Basket maintains third position in Division with 17-5 record having just three points less than leader TuNMKY. Namika Lr at the other side keeps the twelfth place with 17 games lost. Ura Basket's next round opponent will be league's second-placed PuHu Juniorit in Vantaa and it will be for sure the game of the week. Namika Lr will play at home against HyPo (#6) and hope to win that game.
