Regular Season Round 12: Garuda - CLS Knights 54-57

The most exciting game of round 12 in the IBL took place in Bandung. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th ranked Garuda (5-4) to second ranked CLS Knights (7-1) 57-54 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and won the game by 3 points. CLS Knights dominated on the defensive end, holding Garuda to just 5 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Garuda 39-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for forward Dechriston McKinney (203-92, college: Arkansas Tech) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Jamarr Johnson (193-88, college: Widener) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Center Chris Ware (203-89, college: Indiana Tech) replied with 13 points and 7 rebounds and guard Sherrard Brantley (188-90, college: Georgia) added 17 points in the effort for Garuda. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. CLS Knights have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 7-1 record behind leader Satria Muda. Garuda at the other side dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Pelita Jaya. CLS Knights are looking forward to face JNE BSC (#9) in Bandung in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Garuda will play on the road against Aspac (#3) in Jakarta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
