Regular Season Round 42: San-en - Nagoya DD 102-98

An interesting game for Sanen Neophoenix (25-16) which hosted in Hamamatsu second-best Diamond Dolphins (21-20). Second ranked Sanen Neophoenix managed to get a 4-point victory 102-98. Strangely Diamond Dolphins outrebounded Sanen Neophoenix 49-37 including 38 on the defensive glass. Diamond Dolphins were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American swingman Josh Childress (203-83, college: Stanford) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). The other American import forward Robert Dozier (206-85, college: Memphis) contributed with 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds for the winners. Sanen Neophoenix's coach Hiroki Fujita used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 16 rebounds and international power forward Tenketsu Harimoto (198-92) added 25 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Diamond Dolphins. Four Diamond Dolphins players scored in double figures. Sanen Neophoenix have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 25-16 record having six points less than leader Tochigi Brex which they share with defeated Diamond Dolphins. Diamond Dolphins lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the second place with 20 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
