There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Valdiceppo (5-16) defeated on the road higher ranked Porto S.Elpidio (13-9) 75-67 on Sunday. Valdiceppo forced 21 Porto S.Elpidio turnovers. Quite impressive performance for naturalized Czech guard Filippo Meccoli-Matejca (194-92) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Lorenzo Negrotti (192-87) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Valdiceppo's coach Paolo Pierotti used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Antonio Brighi (190-96) replied with 17 points and center Mirko Romani (205-88, agency: Octagon Europe) added 8 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Porto S.Elpidio. Newly promoted Valdiceppo maintains fifteenth position in B with 5-16 record. Loser Porto S.Elpidio keeps the sixth place with nine games lost. Valdiceppo will face higher ranked Giulianova (#10) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
