Regular Season Round 20: Basket Gdynia - CCC Polkowice 70-71

Eighth-ranked Basket Gdynia (7-12) gave a tough game to sixth ranked CCC Polkowice (12-8) on Sunday. The visitors from Polkowice managed to secure only one-point victory 71-70. However their fans expected easier game. CCC Polkowice forced 20 Basket Gdynia turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jamierra Faulkner (168-92, college: S.Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 8 assists and 5 steals and Croatian center Marija Rezan (198-89) who added 10 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. CCC Polkowice's coach Maros Kovacik used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Karolina Puss (178-94, agency: AB Agency) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and Montenegrin guard Jelena Skerovic (176-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Four Basket Gdynia players scored in double figures. CCC Polkowice maintains sixth position with 12-8 record. Basket Gdynia at the other side keeps the eighth place with 12 games lost. CCC Polkowice are looking forward to face bottom-ranked TS Ostrovia (#12) in Ostrow Wlkp. in the next round where they are favorite. Basket Gdynia will play on the road against TS Ostrovia (#12) in Ostrow Wlkp. and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
