There was an upset when higher ranked Hapoel Eilat (12-9) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Maccabi Ashdod (6-14) 93-82 on Monday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Maccabi Ashdod looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Loser Hapoel Eilat keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. Maccabi Ashdod will face higher ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#6) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Hapoel Eilat will play against Hapoel Jerusalem and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
