An exciting game was played in Ramat Hen. Maccabi Ramat Gan faced Maccabi Ashdod. Host Maccabi Ramat Gan (16-2) defeated guests from Ashdod (15-3) 88-83. Maccabi Ramat Gan made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Point guard Chelsea Hopkins (173-90, college: San Diego St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 8 rebounds and 14 assists. Center Danielle Adams (185-89, college: Texas A&M) contributed with 36 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Maccabi Ramat Gan players scored in double figures. Guard Tiffany Hayes (177-89, college: Connecticut) replied with 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Temeka Johnson (160-82, college: LSU, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Maccabi Ashdod. Maccabi Ramat Gan will play against Bnot Hertzeliya (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Maccabi Raanana and hopes to get back on the winning track.
