Regular Season Round 19: Batumi - Kutaisi 70-96

The game in Batumi supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Kutaisi (14-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Batumi (7-12). Kutaisi smashed Batumi 96-70 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Kutaisi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Kutaisi outrebounded Batumi 41-26 including a 36-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Batumi's players. The former international Beka Bekauri (207-91) fired 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. International point guard Giorgi Tsintsadze (192-86) chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Kutaisi's coach Kote Tugushi felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International Besik Lezhava (192-86, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and Ukrainian forward Igor Krivtsov (201-86) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Five Kutaisi and four Batumi players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains second place with 14-4 record having five points less than leader Dinamo Tbilisi. Loser Batumi keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. Kutaisi will meet bottom-ranked Mgzavrebi (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Batumi will play against Sokhumi in Tbilisi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
