Not a big story in a game in Mar del Plata where 9th ranked Boca Juniors (11-27) was edged by seventh ranked Quilmes MP (16-19) 102-100 on Wednesday. Strangely Boca Juniors outrebounded Quilmes MP 50-36 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Boca Juniors was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Luca Vildoza (190-95) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and international power forward Ivan Basualdo (202-90) who added 14 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Quilmes MP's coach Javier Bianchelli used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Greek Fotios Lampropoulos (206-83) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and Panamanian-American swingman Gary Forbes (201-85, college: Virginia) scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Quilmes MP and four Boca Juniors players scored in double figures. Quilmes MP have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with La Union and Argentino. Boca Juniors lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 27 games lost. Quilmes MP's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Mar del Plata Penarol.
