Regular Season Round 36: Instituto - Obras Basket 95-97

Important game to mention about took place in Cordoba. Fifth ranked Obras Basket (18-20) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 3rd ranked Instituto (23-15) 97-95 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Instituto. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-19. But Instituto won third quarter 28-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Obras Basket players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The winners were led by the former international forward Walter Herrmann (206-79) who scored that evening 30 points and Tomas Zanzottera (192-93) supported him with 24 points and 4 assists. Obras Basket's coach Nicolas Casalanguida allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists by American swingman Rodney Green (196-88, college: La Salle) did not help to save the game for Instituto. Italian Pablo Bertone (193-90, college: Florida Atlantic, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Obras Basket maintains fifth position with 18-20 record. Instituto at the other side keeps the third place with 15 games lost. Obras Basket will play against league's leader San Lorenzo in Almagra in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Instituto will have a break next round.
