Regular Season Round 33: Helsinki Seagulls - BC Nokia 86-78

Korisliiga top team - Helsinki Seagulls (22-7) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked BC Nokia (13-17) 86-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BC Nokia. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-17. But BC Nokia won second period 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Helsinki Seagulls players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Swingman Raymond Cowels-III (193-90, college: Santa Clara) nailed 29 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and center Devonte Upson (206-93, college: SE Louisiana) accounted for 12 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Isaiah Wilkerson (191-90, college: NJIT) came up with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Javier Duren (193-93, college: Yale) added 19 points respectively for BC Nokia in the defeat. Four BC Nokia players scored in double figures. Helsinki Seagulls maintains first place with 22-7 record. BC Nokia at the other side keeps the sixth position with 17 games lost. Helsinki Seagulls will play against Kouvot (#7) in Kouvola in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. BC Nokia will play on the road against Kauhajoen Karhu in Kauhajoki and hopes to get back on the winning track.
