Important game to mention about took place in Santa Fe. Fourth ranked Salta Basket (13-15) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging top-ranked Union SF (23-7) 96-95 on Wednesday evening. Salta Basket made 29-of-37 charity shots (78.4 percent) during the game. Union SF was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by Nigerian-American power forward Ike Okoye (206-86, college: Boise St., agency: Aspire Sports) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and American forward LaQuan Prowell (203-84, college: Auburn) supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Five Salta Basket players scored in double figures. Even 38 points (!!!) by swingman Bruno Barovero (194-90) did not help to save the game for Union SF. Forward Patricio Tabarez (195-91) added 19 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Union SF's coach Daniel Beltramo rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Salta Basket maintains fourth position with 13-15 record. Union SF at the other side still keeps top place with seven games lost. Salta Basket will play against BHY Tiro Federal (#4) in Morteros in the next round. Union SF will play at home against the league's leader Hindu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
