Regular Season Round 23: Asker Aliens - Persbraten 89-67

Date: March 1, 2017
The game between sixth ranked Asker Aliens (13-14) and 10th ranked Persbraten (2-24) in Asker on Wednesday ended with biggest points difference. Asker Aliens outscored guests from Oslo 89-67. The game was mostly controlled by Asker Aliens. Persbraten managed to win second period 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a quality performance for DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (203-82) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Espen Stien (186-86) accounted for 22 points for the winning side. Forward Christian Bakken (198-88) came up with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Swedish guard Aron Furstenberg (192-88) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Persbraten in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Asker Aliens maintains sixth place with 13-14 record. Newly promoted Persbraten stay dead last with 24 lost games. Asker Aliens will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Persbraten will play against the league's second-placed Baerum Basket (#2) in Bekkestua and hope to secure a win.
