Regular Season Round 13: Sagesse - Homenetmen 96-108

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Beirut: Homenetmen (#1) and Sagesse (#7). Sagesse was defeated at home 96-108 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game without a history. Homenetmen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Homenetmen outrebounded Sagesse 45-29 including 20 on the offensive glass. American-Iraqi point guard Kevin Galloway (200-88, college: Texas Southern) nailed 24 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and American forward Dewayne Jackson (203-90, college: Morgan St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) accounted for 29 points and 8 rebounds. Homenetmen's coach Joe Nebhan allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) came up with 30 points and 7 assists and Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (193-84, college: CS Northridge) added 23 points and 4 assists respectively for Sagesse in the defeat. Five Homenetmen and four Sagesse players scored in double figures. Homenetmen (12-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place. Sagesse lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Champville. Homenetmen will play against Mayrouba (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sagesse will play against Champville in Dik El Mehdi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
