Regular Season Round 36: Nitra - Lucenec 90-123

Date: March 2, 2017
The game with biggest result difference took place in Nitra. Local Nitra (3-28) was outscored by eighth ranked Lucenec (15-17) 123-90. Lucenec dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Nitra's 56 and had 22 for 32 from the free-throw line, while Nitra only scored four points from the stripe. They outrebounded Nitra 37-22 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Nitra helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by American power forward Jervon Pressley (203-95, college: Hampton) who scored that evening 27 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Serbian swingman Milic Blagojevic (200-91) supported him with 27 points. Even 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) by swingman Adam Zatko (200-98) did not help to save the game for Nitra. Croatian forward Eddi Jurjevic (202-93) added 18 points. Five Lucenec and four Nitra players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lucenec moved-up to seventh place. Nitra at the other side stay dead last with 28 lost games. Lucenec will have a break next round. Nitra will play on the road against Levice (#4) and hope to win that game.
