The biggest surprise of round 5 was guest Chunghwa Telecom's (#2) easy road victory over Taiyuan Textile (#3) 79-59 on Thursday evening. They outrebounded Taiyuan Textile 38-25 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Wei-Lin Wang (180-93) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Hsiang-Ting Huang (180-93) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. The former international center Pei-Chen Tsai (186-84) produced 6 points and 12 rebounds and international forward Ying-Chieh Wu (179-92) added 16 points respectivelyfor Chunghwa Telecom. Chunghwa Telecom maintains second place with 8-7 record having five points less than leader Cathay Life. Taiyuan Textile lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with eight games lost.
