Regular Season Round 16: Toyoda Gosei - Tokyo Big Blue 54-80

Bottom-ranked Tokyo Big Blue managed to get a third victory on Saturday night. This time they outleveled eighth-ranked Toyoda Gosei in Aichi 80-54. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 26-point difference suggests that Tokyo Big Blue is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. They also forced 20 Toyoda Gosei turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Yoshikawa Osamuakira (182-92) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds and Kengo Funabashi (-93) who added 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American center Matthew Kendrick (215-90, college: St.Leo) responded with 6 points and 18 rebounds and point guard Eiji Sumihiro (171-89) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tokyo Big Blue maintains ninth position with 3-25 record. Toyoda Gosei lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 23 games lost. Tokyo Big Blue will face higher ranked Saitama Broncos (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
