Regular Season Round 23: Ekeren - Giants B 73-71

Bottom-ranked Ekeren managed to get a sixth victory. This time newly promoted Ekeren edged seventh-ranked Giants B 73-71. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Giants B won fourth quarter 19-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ekeren made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for guard Dave Van-den-Brande (189-82) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Center Pieter De-Cock (198-93) accounted for 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Point guard Philippe Peeters (188-95) came up with 24 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Ordane Kanda-Kanyinda (186-96) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Giants B in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Ekeren (6-15) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with RPC Anderlecht. Giants B at the other side keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. Ekeren's next round opponent will be higher ranked Waregem (#4) in Waregem and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
