Regular Season Round 43: Aomori Watts - Hiroshima D. 74-71

Important game to mention about took place in Aomori. Fourth ranked Aomori Watts (17-24) saved a 3-point victory at home edging much higher ranked Dragonflies (32-9) 74-71 on Saturday evening. The hosts were already 15 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 31-19 Dragonflies' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 74-71 at the end of the game. Dragonflies were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American center Kyle Barone (208-89, college: Idaho) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) accounted for 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. The former international center Daiji Yamada (200-81) came up with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Australian-Trinidad and Tobago guard Daniel Dillon (193-86, college: Arizona) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Dragonflies in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Aomori Watts maintains fourth place with 17-24 record. Dragonflies at the other side keep the second position with nine games lost. Aomori Watts will again play against league's second-placed Dragonflies in Hiroshima in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dragonflies will have a break next round.
