Second Stage Round 7: Koping - LF Future 90-68
Date: March 4, 2017
There was no surprise when 5th ranked LF Future (3-6) was outleveled on the road by third ranked Koping (5-5) 90-68 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 53-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Koping outrebounded LF Future 39-19 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Koping especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Quite impressive performance for American guard Ronnie Boggs (192-91, college: Jacksonville St., agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Center Mikael Axelsson (207-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Five Koping players scored in double figures. Guard Erik Edin (185-91) answered with 20 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Brian Curry (185-86) added 17 points in the effort for LF Future. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Koping maintains third place in Superettan with 5-5 record having ten points less than leader IK Eos. Loser LF Future dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Koping will face again LF Future (#6) in Lulea in the next round.
