The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Racing (20-2) in Luxembourg on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Basket Esch (11-11) 72-57. It was a key game for the top position in League. 25 personal fouls committed by Racing helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Bill Clark (196-88, college: Duquesne) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international power forward Alexandre Rodenbourg (202-91) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Basket Esch players scored in double figures. American forward Mark Ogden (206-94, college: Dixie St.) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import swingman Scott Morton (195-87, college: Geneseo St.) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Basket Esch maintains first place in League with 11-11 record which they share with defeated Racing. Newly promoted Racing still keeps top position with two games lost. Basket Esch are looking forward to face BC Mess (#4) in Mondercange in the next round. Racing will play on the road against Arantia in Larochette and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
