Regular Season Round 22: Leuven - Kangoeroes 76-90

Date: March 4, 2017
No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Kangoeroes (12-10) beat on the road 9th ranked Leuven Bears (6-16) 90-76 on Saturday. Kangoeroes forced 21 Leuven Bears turnovers and outrebounded them 43-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. American point guard Wesley Channels (190-88, college: Austin Peay St.) notched 25 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and the other American import forward Terrance Henry (206-89, college: Mississippi) supported him with 17 points. Even a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds by Egyptian-American center Omar Samhan (211-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) did not help to save the game for Leuven Bears. American guard Codi Miller-McIntyre (190-94, college: Wake Forest) added 14 points and 5 assists for lost side. Five Leuven Bears players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kangoeroes have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Brussels. Leuven Bears lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 16 games lost. Kangoeroes will meet at home Basic-Fit Brussels (#4) in the next round. Leuven Bears will play against Belfius Mons-Hainaut (#8) in Jemappes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
