Regular Season Round 21: Paris-Levallois - ASVEL 70-86

Paris-Levallois (#5) was upset in Levallois by eighth ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket 86-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Paris-Levallois. The game was mostly controlled by ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket. Paris-Levallois was better in third quarter 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) nailed 20 points and 6 assists for the winning side and Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (200-84, college: Hofstra, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket's coach J.D. Jackson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Jason Rich (191-86) came up with 21 points and 5 assists and the former international power forward Louis Labeyrie (209-92) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Paris-Levallois in the defeat. Four Paris-Levallois players scored in double figures. Defending champion (11-10) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Gravelines. Paris-Levallois at the other side keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Strasbourg. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket will play against higher ranked Chalon/Saor (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Paris-Levallois will play against Le Mans and hopes to get back on the winning track.
