Regular Season Round 22: Plasencia - Coin 78-76

A very interesting game took place in Plasencia. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Coin (3-7) to second ranked Plasencia (6-3) 78-76 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The hosts were already 14 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 23-11 Coin's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 78-76 at the end of the game. Plasencia well out of reach of Coin shooting 100.0 percent from the field. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Fitzgerald White (201-91, college: Union, KY) who helped to win the game recording 23 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). The other American import forward Kevin Phillips (201, college: Goshen) contributed with 11 points for the winners. Point guard Jose Ballesteros (181-79) replied with 23 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) and guard Francisco Robles (191-81) added 18 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) in the effort for Coin. Plasencia have a solid four-game winning streak. They used an opportunity after Meridiano Baza lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position in Group D Perman. Coin at the other side keeps the seventh place with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
