Regular Season Round 23: Iberostar Tener. - Real Madrid 75-64

An interesting game for CB Canarias (17-5) which hosted in Tenerife second-ranked Real Madrid (15-6). First ranked CB Canarias managed to get a 11-point victory 75-64. The game was mostly controlled by CB Canarias. Real Madrid was better in third quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American forward Tim Abromaitis (203-89, college: Notre Dame) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points. Greek center Giorgos Bogris (210-89) helped adding 14 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Four CB Canarias players scored in double figures. Slovenian point guard Luka Doncic (201-99) responded with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and international Rudy Fernandez (197-85) scored 12 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. CB Canarias maintains first place with 17-5 record. Real Madrid lost third consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the third position with six games lost. They share it with FC Barcelona and Valencia. CB Canarias will play against Movil Estudiantes (#11) in Madrid in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Real Madrid will play at home against FC Barcelona (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
