Regular Season Round 23: Granada - Agustinos-Leclerc 92-66

Date: March 4, 2017
There was no surprise when 11th ranked Agustinos-Leclerc (10-13) was crushed on the road by second ranked CB Granada (17-7) 92-66 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by CB Granada. Agustinos-Leclerc was better in third quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Agustinos-Leclerc 42-27 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Adrian Bowie (189-89, college: Maryland) who scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Cape Verdean-Portuguese forward Joel Almeida (195-85, college: Brockport St.) chipped in 16 points. Four CB Granada players scored in double figures. CB Granada's coach Pablo Pin felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Javier Lacunza (205-94, college: Florida Atlantic) produced 10 points and 7 rebounds and Senegalese forward Lamine Dieng (203-92, college: Pittsburg St.) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. CB Granada maintains second place with 17-7 record having just one point less than leader Sammic ISB. Newly promoted Agustinos-Leclerc keeps the eleventh position with 13 games lost. CB Granada will face bottom-ranked Zamorano (#16) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Agustinos-Leclerc will play against Fontedoso Carrefour (#5) and hope to win that game.
