Regular Season Round 21: Le Portel - Dijon 80-70

Everything went according to plan when twelfth ranked Le Portel (9-12) beat at home 15th ranked JDA Dijon (7-14) 80-70. It looked good early as JDA Dijon took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Le Portel had a 24-8 second period charge getting the lead and JDA Dijon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-80. Le Portel made 19-of-21 charity shots (90.5 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Le Portel especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a good game for point guard Darrin Dorsey (188-87, college: Dakota Wesleyan) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Center Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Point guard David Holston (168-86, college: Chicago St.) answered with 23 points and 6 assists and power forward Brandon Peterson (204-90, college: Arkansas St., agency: Inception Sports) added 15 points in the effort for JDA Dijon. Four JDA Dijon players scored in double figures. Le Portel moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Hyeres-Toulon. JDA Dijon at the other side keeps the fifteenth position with 14 games lost. Le Portel's next round opponent will be Hyeres-Toulon (#12) on the road. JDA Dijon will play against Chalons-Reims and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
