Regular Season Round 20: Peja - Vellaznimi 135-91

The game between third ranked Peja (14-3) and 7th ranked Vellaznimi (2-18) in Peje on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Peja outscored guests from Gjakove 135-91. The game without a history. Peja led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Vellaznimi's 50. They outrebounded Vellaznimi 52-26 including a 23-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Peja looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Vellaznimi's players. The winners were led by Montenegrin forward Slobodan Miljanic (201-90, college: Lynn, agency: AproK Sports Group) who scored that evening 29 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Blendi Matoshi (196-94) supported him with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Even 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds by Beqe Kovaqi (196-94) did not help to save the game for Vellaznimi. Swingman Avdijaj Kreshnik (191-99) added 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Five Peja and four Vellaznimi players scored in double figures. Vellaznimi's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Peja have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 14-3 record behind leader Sigal Prishtina. Vellaznimi lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 18 games lost. Peja will meet league's second-placed Bashkimi in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vellaznimi will play against Xhebrailat (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
