Everything went according to plan when third ranked Anwil (15-7) defeated 16th ranked AZS Polfarmex (4-18) in Kutno 95-88 on Saturday. Anwil forced 21 AZS Polfarmex turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Croatian center Josip Sobin (203-89, agency: Alti Sport) nailed 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and Russian Fedor Dmitriev (204-84, agency: Alti Sport) accounted for 18 points. Canadian center Michael Fraser (203-84, college: Oklah.Baptist) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Grzegorz Grochowski (180-93, agency: AB Agency) added 11 points, 7 assists and 5 steals respectively for AZS Polfarmex in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Anwil. They maintain third place with 15-7 record behind leader Stelmet ZG. AZS Polfarmex lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 18 games lost. Anwil will meet at home bottom-ranked Stabill (#17) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. AZS Polfarmex will play against PGE Turow in Zgorzelec and hope to secure a win.
