Regular Season Round 43: Sendai 89ers - Toshiba BT 64-76

B League top team - Toshiba Thunders (35-6) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat fifth ranked Sendai 89ers (11-30) 76-64. The game was mostly controlled by Toshiba Thunders. Sendai 89ers was better in fourth quarter 30-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds. Senegalese swingman Mamadou Diouf (197-77, college: Delaware) helped adding 7 points and 7 rebounds. Four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and guard Kaito Ishikawa (188-90) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Toshiba Thunders have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 35-6 record. Loser Sendai 89ers keep the fifth position with 30 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face Kyoto Hannar. (#4) at home in the next round. Sendai 89ers will play against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya and hope to win that game.
