Regular Season Round 20: Hainaut - Mondeville 75-73

A very close game took place in Saint-Amand between Hainaut and Mondeville. Eighth ranked Hainaut (9-11) got a very close home victory over 6th ranked Mondeville (11-9). Hainaut managed to escape with a 2-point win 75-73 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 24-16 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Czech swingman Romana Hejdova (184-88) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 rebounds and Spanish guard Laura Garcia (176-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who added 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Hainaut players scored in double figures. Hainaut's coach Fabrice Fernandes used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Lisa Berkani (176-97) responded with 21 points and 4 assists and power forward Marieme Badiane (190-94) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Hainaut moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Nice and Nantes. Loser Mondeville keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Hainaut will meet league's leader Lattes Montpellier on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Mondeville will play against Tarbes (#10) and hope to secure a win.
