Regular Season Round 20: Flammes - Lattes Montp. 58-75

Another exciting game was played in Charleville between first ranked Lattes Montpellier and second-ranked Flammes where Lattes Montpellier (16-4) beat Flammes (15-5) on the road with 17-point difference 75-58. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Flammes. It was a key game for the top position in the league. It looked good early as Flammes took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lattes Montpellier had a 22-11 second period charge getting the lead and Flammes was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 58-75. International guard Gaelle Skrela (177-83) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points. American forward Kristen Mann (185-83, college: UCSB, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Lattes Montpellier players scored in double figures. Kadidia Minte (186-91) replied with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Belgian Kim Mestdagh (179-90, college: Colorado St.) added 12 points in the effort for Flammes. Flammes' coach Romuald Yernaux rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Lattes Montpellier have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 16-4 record. Flammes at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost. Lattes Montpellier will play against Hainaut (#9) in Saint-Amand in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Flammes will play on the road against Angers (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
