Regular Season Round 22: Olivar - Sant Nicolau 85-75

There was a minor upset in Zaragoza where 11th ranked Sant Nicolau (7-12) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Olivar (7-12) 85-75 on Saturday. Olivar outrebounded Sant Nicolau 45-32 including 30 on the defensive glass. Sant Nicolau was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Unai Mendicote (196-99) scored 26 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Czech swingman Simon Pursl (203-97) chipped in 17 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side center Larry Ewulu (197-92) responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Nil Angelats (185-93) scored 22 points. Sant Nicolau's coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Olivar have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place in Group C-A, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Sant Nicolau. Olivar will face higher ranked Arenys (#7) in Arenys del Mar in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
