Regular Season Round 20: SIG - Roche 63-66

Ninth-ranked SIG (8-12) made lots of trouble for second ranked Roche (17-3) in llkirch-Graff.. The visitors from La Roche managed to secure only three-point victory 66-63. However their fans expected much easier game. It looked good early as SIG took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Roche had a 19-10 second period charge getting the lead and SIG was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-66. Roche made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded SIG 40-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. DR Congolese center Bernadette Ngoyisa (195-82) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 18 rebounds. Naturalized Senegalese forward Mariame Dia (185-78) contributed with 9 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Lisa Bacconnier (169-94) replied with 11 points and 6 rebounds and forward Rejane Verin (185-93, college: Cal-Riverside) added 18 points in the effort for SIG. Four SIG players scored in double figures. SIG's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Roche keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Avenir. SIG lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Aulnoye. Roche will play against Limoges (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. SIG will play against Roannais (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
