Regular Season Round 17: Proteas - Athinaikos 62-65

Round 17 most important game was a victory of Athinaikos over 4th placed Proteas 65-62 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Proteas. Canadian-Serbian forward Stephany Skrba (188-87, college: Michigan) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and the former international guard Angeliki Nikolopoulou (178-91) added 16 points and 5 assists in the effort for Proteas. Athinaikos (11-5) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain third place having seven points less than leader Olympiacos. Proteas at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Athinaikos are looking forward to face Panathlitikos (#8) in Thessaloniki in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Proteas will play on the road against Aris Thessal. (#10) in Thessaloniki and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
