The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Hottur (20-3) in Reykjavik on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by third ranked Valur (17-5) 118-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hottur. The game without a history. Valur led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They outrebounded Hottur 49-23 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Valur looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Hottur's players. American forward Urald King (198-90, college: SE Oklahoma) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized American guard Austin Bracey (190-90) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Five Valur players scored in double figures. American guard Aaron Moss (185, college: Cabrini, agency: Duran International) responded with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and guard Ragnar Albertsson (190-93) scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Valur maintains third position with 17-5 record having four points less than leader Hottur. Hottur at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost. Valur are looking forward to face Vestri (#6) in the next round. Hottur will play against Breidablik (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
