Regular Season Round 44: Shinshu BW - Gunma 63-74

Leader Gunma delivered the twenty eighth victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Shinshu BW (12-31) 74-63 in Nagano. Shinshu BW was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Gunma made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. The winners were led by point guard Hirotaka Kondo (187-82) who scored that evening 23 points and American center Marcus Cousin (211-86, college: Houston) supported him with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Even 14 points and 7 rebounds by Canadian center Chad Posthumus (211-91, college: Morehead St.) did not help to save the game for Shinshu BW. Dutch power forward Jeroen van-der-List (213-89, college: Indian Hills CC) added 10 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gunma have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 28-14 record. Shinshu BW lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 31 games lost. Gunma's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Nishinomiya S. in Hyogo and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shinshu BW will play on the road against the league's leader Shimane Magic (#1) and hope to win that game.
