Regular Season Round 43: Toyota Alvark - Tochigi Brex 66-74

Very significant was Tochigi Brex's (#1) 74-66 road victory against their biggest opponent Toyota Alvark. It was a key game for the top position in the league. It looked good early as Toyota Alvark took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Tochigi Brex took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 8 points. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. The former international guard Yuta Tabuse (173-80, college: BYU-Hawaii) accounted for 16 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. American point guard Diante Garrett (196-88, college: Iowa St.) came up with 16 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: Arizona St.) added 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Toyota Alvark in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tochigi Brex maintains first place with 32-9 record which they share with defeated Toyota Alvark. Toyota Alvark at the other side still keeps top position with ten games lost. They share it with SeaHorses. Tochigi Brex will play against Niigata Albirex (#4) at home in the next round. Toyota Alvark will play against Osaka Evessa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
