Regular Season Round 21: Promete - Olimpico 64 58-46

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Olimpico 64 (3-18) lost on the road to ninth ranked Promete (9-12) 58-46 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Promete. Olimpico 64 was better in fourth quarter 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Olimpico 64 to just 7 points in second quarter. Promete forced 22 Olimpico 64 turnovers. It was a good game for forward Laura Arroyo (181-91) who led her team to a victory with 23 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Elena Salcedo (170-90) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The former international power forward Irene Herradas (186-78) answered with 12 points and 6 rebounds and Beatriz Parada (179-86) added 9 points and 5 steals in the effort for Olimpico 64. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Promete maintains ninth place in Group B with 9-12 record. Loser Olimpico 64 keeps the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. Promete will face Picken Claret (#11) in Valencia in the next round. Olimpico 64 will play at home against the league's leader Alcobendas where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
