Regular Season Round 21: ToPo - Lahti 91-83

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Lahti (19-5) in Helsinki on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked ToPo (16-8) 91-83. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. ToPo forced 19 Lahti turnovers. It was a good game for guard Emil Djeen (183-94, college: High School) who led his team to a victory with 26 points. American swingman Nigel Moore (195-81, college: Alabama A&M) contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Ville Karvonen (198-96) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Rashad Smith (201-93, college: Tulsa, agency: Diamond Sports) added 19 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Lahti. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lahti's coach Arttu Mannelin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted ToPo maintains third place in Division with 16-8 record having four points less than leader PuHu Juniorit. Lahti at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. ToPo are looking forward to face Jyvaskyla BA (#4) at home in the next round. Lahti will play against HBA-Marsky and is hoping to win this game.
