Regular Season Round 24: Froya Basket - Tromso 56-48
Date: March 5, 2017
Rather predictable result in Laksevag where fourth ranked Froya Basket (17-10) defeated 8th ranked Tromso (9-18) 56-48. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Tromso won third quarter 12-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Froya Basket brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The winners were led by American forward Jeff Harper (203-87) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and forward Arne Ingebrigtsen (197-90, college: Cuesta JC) supported him with 12 points. Harper is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Froya Basket's coach Brent Hackman allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 14 points and 17 rebounds by guard Hani Issalhi (191-84) did not help to save the game for Tromso. Point guard Aslak Smalas (186-89) added 11 points and 6 rebounds. Froya Basket moved-up to third place, which they share with Gimle BBK. Tromso at the other side keeps the eighth position with 18 games lost.
