Regular Season Round 21: Galil Gilboa - Maccabi T-A 80-77

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Maccabi T-A (15-6) in Rosh Pina on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by tenth ranked Galil Gilboa (9-12) 80-77. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Maccabi T-A won fourth quarter 28-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Galil Gilboa forced 21 Maccabi T-A turnovers. 27 personal fouls committed by Maccabi T-A helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import Jason Siggers (194-85, college: Albany) contributed with 23 points for the winners. American forward Victor Rudd (205-91, college: S.Florida) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Guinea-Bissau-American center Colton Iverson (212-89, college: Colorado St., agency: Pensack Sports) added 13 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Maccabi T-A. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Galil Gilboa maintains tenth place with 9-12 record. Maccabi T-A at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. Galil Gilboa are looking forward to face higher ranked Ironi Nahariya (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi T-A will play against Maccabi Rishon (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
