Regular Season Round 43: Toyota Alvark - Tochigi Brex 89-73

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Tochigi Brex (32-9) in Tokyo on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by Toyota Alvark (31-10) 89-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tochigi Brex. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a great evening for American point guard Diante Garrett (196-88, college: Iowa St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 7 rebounds. International power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) responded with 25 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyota Alvark keeps a position of league leader, which they share with SeaHorses. Tochigi Brex at the other side still keeps top place with nine games lost. Toyota Alvark is looking forward to face Osaka Evessa (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tochigi Brex will play against Niigata Albirex and is hoping to win this game.
