Regular Season Round 37: Ferrocarril - Boca Jrs 71-70

Tenth-ranked Boca Juniors (11-28) made lots of trouble for second ranked Ferrocarril (24-13) in Buenos Aires on Tuesday. Ferrocarril managed to secure only one-point victory 71-70. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Boca Juniors won third quarter 23-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Martin Cuello (193-93) fired 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American-Puerto Rican Ramon Clemente (200-85, college: Wichita St.) chipped in 17 points. Ferrocarril's coach Alvaro Castineira used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Greek Fotios Lampropoulos (206-83) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Lucas Perez (185-87) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Four Boca Juniors players scored in double figures. Ferrocarril maintains second place with 24-13 record having just three points less than leader San Lorenzo. Boca Juniors lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 28 games lost. Ferrocarril are looking forward to face Argentino (#5) in Junin in the next round. Boca Juniors will play at home against La Union (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
