Regular Season Round 24: Campo Mourao - Minas 114-105

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Minas (8-15) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Campo Mourao (13-11) 114-105 on Tuesday. Campo Mourao looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Greg Brown (188-94, college: St.Francis, PA) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Isaac Thornton (190-91, college: Fairmont St.) who added 30 points and 4 assists during the contest. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Campo Mourao players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Drew Maynard (200-89, college: Rochester, MI) with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 15 rebounds and guard Scott Rodgers (191-87, college: Drexel, agency: DTMones) scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Campo Mourao went down to eighth position due to points difference. Minas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 15 games lost. Campo Mourao will meet at home league's leader Brasilia in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Minas will play against the league's leader Brasilia (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
