Regular Season Round 27: Quimper - Angers BC 91-78

Date: March 7, 2017
Very expected game when 15th ranked Angers BC (11-16) was defeated on the road by second ranked Quimper UJAP (20-7) 91-78. Angers BC was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 48-34 second half run of Quimper UJAP. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. It was a good game for American forward Dwight Burke (202-86, college: Marquette) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Ukrainian forward Vyacheslav Bobrov (201-92) contributed with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Burke is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Auston Calhoun (201-90, college: Bowling Green, agency: HMS) answered with 19 points and 6 rebounds and center Jeremie Douillet (205-91) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Angers BC. Five Quimper UJAP and four Angers BC players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Quimper UJAP. They maintain second place with 20-7 record behind leader Caen. Angers BC at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with 16 games lost. Quimper UJAP's next round opponent will be ALS Basket (#8) in Andrezieux which should be theoretically an easy game. Angers BC will play at home against Vendee Challans (#10) and hope to win that game.
